Jesse Woodson James: the Western outlaw
Despite being one of those robbers who used violent methods to steal, Jesse Woodson James was a popular icon in his days. The people looked up to him and his squad called the James-Younger Gang, who used to rob trains and banks.
People thought of James as Robin Hood in flesh and blood. Since Woodson’s primary targets were the rich and elite, even what we see today as the wild-west aura of train looting is primarily contributed by Jesse Woodson James.
