Are We Alone in the Universe? These UFO Sightings Throughout History Have Been Investigated by the US Government, Confirmed, and Denied

July 11, 2010 by Shelley Thompson

When you look at the environment and observe strange things beyond human comprehension and how they evolve, you tend to ask yourself, “are we alone in this universe? Are we even safe?” From research and scientific knowledge, we know the universe is so big that we find it almost impossible to think we are alone. Some beings beyond the human race make up this solar system, and some extra-terrestrial beings must have visited at some point. Since 1947, over 80,000 strange objects and beings have been sighted and reported. The government started taking them seriously during the height of the Cold War to make sure no sightings were a national security threat. Many have been captured in photos and videos. Several individuals and teams have witnessed and reported these Unidentified Flying Objects incidents. These accounts have been portrayed in sci-fi movies and books, but they’re not all fiction. If you’re interested in alien abductions, flying saucers, and life outside of earth, this article is for you. Here are 40 sightings of UFOs and foreign objects identified by the United States.

A US Fighter Engaged in a Dogfight with a Mysterious White Orb

This encounter with the UFOs occurred on October 1st, 1948, with a veteran World War II fighter pilot who had just finished a cross-country flight. Suddenly, he saw a thick white light on the plane’s wings.

This incident took place in North Dakota with the pilot George F. Gorman engaging the mysterious orb for 27 minutes until it outmaneuvered his plane with a speed of over 400 mph. The incident was unique in that others witnessed it both in the sky and on the ground. The government claims the pilot’s perception of the changing lights was a weather balloon, but experts think otherwise.
