Blennies Can Survive On Land
Blennies are the perfect example of evolution in action. Many species of blennies have fully transitioned from water-dwelling to land-dwelling creatures. When they are on land, they continue to breathe with their gills. Also, they have developed strong tail fins that allow them to jump from rocks.
Blennies make their homes on the intertidal rocks on the island of Guam. Blennies do everything on land; finding their food, mating, or nesting. Their love for the land is demonstrated in how they leap from rock to rock as they try to escape predators and researchers.
