Earth’s Biggest Waterfall Is In The Ocean
On land, the tallest waterfall is Angel Falls in Venezuela. Angel Falls has a drop of over 3,200 feet. However, the drop is nothing compared to the Denmark Strait cataract. The Denmark Strait cataract is an underwater waterfall between Greenland and Iceland.
The Denmark Strait cataract is formed by the temperature difference in the water on each side of the strait. The National Ocean Service says that the flow rate of the waterfall is more than 123 million cubic feet per second. The flow rate is 50,000 times that of Niagara falls.
