Mines – the invisible enemy
During World War II and in postwar local maritime conflicts, the use of naval mines demonstrated their increasingly important role in mission fulfillment. Russian naval mines are unequaled for their performance characteristics, reliability, and ease of handling.
The naval mines were a great invisible enemy. These forced the submarines and surface forces to move away from the coastline. And they were defensive weapons; that is, they only attacked those who attacked the maritime borders of sovereign States.
