Not Just Fish: The Magnificent And Creepy Things That Live Underwater

November 20, 2013 by Shelley Thompson

The world is full of incredible, almost magical things. Some landscapes that seem from another planet, animals that appear as taken out of a movie, and oddities that never stop to amaze us. If you are passionate about traveling and like water and peculiar things, you are in the right place! Right here, we will begin a journey through the depths of the water, which hides things that the first time you see them, you will not be able to believe they exist. We will visit statues, stairs, houses, and many more things that, for different reasons, are underwater. There is still a long way to go, and together, we will discover beautiful things, so prepare your boats to sail these magical waters around the world.

Arms coming out of the water

In Venice, as you can see, a pair of giant arms support the facade of the Ca ‘Sagredo hotel. The mega installation is called Support and was created by the Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn. Not only is it beautiful and impressive, but there is also a hidden message in this installation.

It has been built to raise awareness about the effects of global warming. The hands symbolize both construction and destruction. Here’s an interesting fact: the artist took the small hands of his eleven-year-old son Anthony as molds for the gigantic installation.
