Sequilhos – Brazil
Sequilhos is a popular Brazilian cookie prepared with cornstarch and sometimes with sweetened condensed milk. Since Maizena is a well-known cornstarch brand in Brazil, it can also be referred to as “Biscoitos de Maizena.” With a fork, the dough is rolled into balls that are slightly two-dimensional once it has stiffened, giving them an attractive design in the process.

Sequilhos are the ideal small cookies to eat with a cup of coffee or tea since they are very crumbly but inside have a soft, delicate, melt-in-your-mouth quality. These delicate cookies can be eaten on their own or combined with fruit, custard, or frozen dessert after baking.
