Snickerdoodle – United States
The Snickerdoodle is a cookie made with flour, butter or oil, sugar, salt, and rolled in cinnamon sugar. This mouthwatering cookie is another American cookie from New England and may sometimes contain eggs with cream of tartar and baking soda added to leaven its dough.
Also referred to as sugar cookies, Snickerdoodles can have a cracked surface and can either be soft or crisp, depending on the choice of ingredients used. Medieval Snickerdoodles were usually immersed in white sugar while modern-day confectionary stores roll their Snickerdoodles in a mixture of white sugar and cinnamon.
