Anicini – Italy
Anicini is an anise-flavored biscotti, also called Finocchini, which is widely consumed throughout Italy but is particularly adored in Sardegna and Liguria. The first step in creating this delicious baked good is to bake bread prepared from eggs, flour, sugar, orange blossom water, and anise.

Then this bread is gently cut into slices and cooked once more until the slices are brown and crispy. Due to the digestive properties of anise, Anicini is ideal to serve at the end of any meal. Anicini is a delicate, light, and crunchy cookie perfect for dunking in coffee or milk. It is also one of the many confections traced to Liguria.
